Day 4: River Rafting and Wild Tiger Wrestling

I guess I'm making up for posting twice in one day. Sorry about not updating yesterday, the day was quite busy!

I slept at my aunt's house, partly because I was sick of the other house's smell and partly because we were playing games and I didn't want to miss out.

The highlight of today (yesterday) was definitely river rafting. ALL the extended family came with. Our goal? Raft down the Boise river. This isn't the first time we've done it. I seem to recall rafting down it a few years ago. Weather was perfect. Warm enough to want the water, but not too hot, so that we could stand being out of the water. My aunt and uncle have this huge fourteen-man inflatable raft which a good deal of the family went in. We only popped two rafts, which is nice. One blew when we tried to over-inflate it, and the other got trashed going through some rapids.

Speaking of rapids, there were only like three decent rapids which we went through, and they were only wild enough to startle the babies. Lame. I'd have like some crazy ones, but apparently my family didn't want any. Halfway down the river I got called over to a smaller raft to hold babies.

I enjoyed it. Partly because the babies were adorable and partly because I didn't have to row! Yay laziness. I almost had the two children fall asleep on me. I don't know if that means I'm comforting or just plain boring. Probably the latter.

You're probably wondering how the ice-blocking went.

Heh.

Funny story.

You know how I was all like "It's gonna be awesome!!" and my parents were all like "We're totally going ice-blocking and NOT staying home because we're tired!!"

Well it's not like that anymore. We stayed home. Moved ice-blocking to Saturday. I'll let ya know how that was when we get there. IF we get there.

That night we stayed up 'til around 1:00 AM playing Mafia, which is a fun game to play with groups, that doesn't require anything but a few pieces of paper and an active imagination. Google it if you're interested.

For the past couple of days, my mom has been coming up to me with those Wiimote holders shaped like golf clubs and such and saying "Look Ben! It's a wee golf club/tennis racket/steering wheel/Australia!" in a mock-Irish accent. Needless to say it stopped being funny on day two. *cough cough* Mother *cough* take a hint *cough cough*.

We also did family photos. My un-photogenic nature came through full force, but we took enough pictures that at least *one* has to come out well...

...Right?

...*sigh*

I just don't look good in print.

That's it for today!

(Today here meaning: Friday, August 2nd, 2013)

Live and let die.

-Ben

P.s. The post title's a misnomer!
